This is no good news for aespa’s fans
Seems like the early success of this SM girl group has been leading to tons of troubles for themselves, each and every move of this girl group would easily become a hot potato.
Just a few days ago, their teaser photos got accused of stealing the concept from other artists, yesterday, they again got slammed for copying Blackpink and Itzy’s choreographies!
So gearing up for their highly-anticipated comeback Savage, aespa hyped fans up by dropping the official MV teaser.
Only short 15 seconds were shown, but it’s long enough to reveal a small part of the äďďïċẗïṿệ melody and eye-catching choreography.
However, that’s where the problem lies.
A lot of netizens immediately noticed an uncanny resemblance of Savage’s choreography with a dance move in “How You Like That” by Blackpink and “Not Shy” by Itzy.
Well, both of these songs are two smash ḧïẗs coming from famous girl groups of YG and JYP, so it’s not difficult for netizens to catch the similarities right away.
But the irony is that the choreography of all the 3 MVs is all done by the well-known choreographer, Kiel Tutin.
Thus, he was quickly called out for recycling the dance moves and thus causing trouble for aespa.
Fans claimed that the irresponsibility of Kiel Tutin was unacceptable and need to stop. aespa, Blackpink, and ITZY are all popular girl groups with completely different concepts, so how could he use similar choreography for all of them? Some fans expressed.
Realizing he has caused such a big fuss, Kiel Tutin quickly spoke out against the criticism on his Instagram story. He declared that he was not totally wrong in this incident.
To prove that, he listed 5 reasons:
1. He’d never purposely use similar choreography for famous girl groups.
2. He’d always make sure nothing is remotely similar.
3. This move was used for Not Shy only and not anything else.
4. He has zero control over what ends up in the final Kpop choreography.
5. Choreography can overlap, and it’s normal.
However, seems like Tutin’s explanation didn’t solve anything, instead, it triggered netizens even more due to his questionable attitude in the post. He used the words “stupid questions” and “get a life” to talk to netizens, and this is totally disrespectful.
Well, anyway, Savage was officially a few hours ago, so let’s check it out to know whether aespa’s comeback actually copies any single dance move of Blackpink or ITZY.
